Personal
At this point in my life at 49 years old I am at a cross roads and ready for a change. 15 years ago I decided to stay at home with my children as was best for my family's situation and now that my children are old enough to stay at home by themselves I am ready to get back out in the work force.
My Core Values
Above all else I am a learner. I am constantly aiming to improve my skills and evolve with the technological times and environment. I take personal pride in anything I do as not only does it reflect on my work ethic, but also gives me a sense of personal accomplishment.
Programming
I'm a mostly self-taught programmer with nearly 35 years of experience having built thousands of command line utilities and my fair share of GUIs in various languages ranging from FORTRAN, C, C++, and Python to scripting languages like AutoHotkey, CMD and Powershell, Shell variants (SH, Bash, ZSH, etc.) in both Windows and Linux (and occasionally MacOS).
I'm, admittedly, not too experienced in web site/app development, but I am caught up on HTML5, CSS3, and some Javascript and have built many of my own personal sites.
Though some would call me a hobbyist I have spent many of my years in the programming community helping and teaching in programming forums and as stated before I have developed enough full featured software to be more than familiar with the industry and though I might not have worked in a professional environment I have done a bit of freelance work and I am very aware of the environment and atmosphere of professional settings in terms of working with teams and meeting deadlines. I can learn and adjust accordingly.
AI
I, like many, have been apprehensive about the use of AI, but in the last couple of years I have learned how to prompt efficiently and do use it as an aid and reference and recognize that it is a useful and essential tool if used properly and responsibly.

I have well over 120 project there and at least 100 of them are my own code (not forks). I have maybe 2-3 project aided by AI.
Physical Labor
Though I am a programmer at heart, I have spent many years working in various physical labor and restaurant jobs. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and enjoy being productive.
